Doug Braase, M.A., is a registered counseling intern dedicated to helping individuals and couples navigate life’s challenges with clarity, resilience, and purpose. He earned his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and also holds a diploma in Mental Health Coaching from Light University, further equipping him to support clients in both clinical and goal-oriented settings.
He has experience working with a diverse range of clients and has a strong interest in treating anxiety, trauma, grief, and life transitions. Doug is a Navy Veteran and is especially passionate about supporting veterans and their families, helping them process experiences and successfully adjust to life beyond military service.
He is also a certified SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) Facilitator and enjoys working with couples in both premarital and relationship enrichment settings. Through this framework, Doug helps couples build strong foundations, improve communication, and develop lasting, healthy relationships through biblical principles.
His counseling approach is integrative and client-centered, drawing from evidence-based practices while tailoring each session to the individual’s unique needs. Doug is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow.
He has a particular future interest in trauma-focused therapies, including EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and is committed to ongoing professional development in these areas.
